Sample of a larger project

Writer’s note: this is the second chapter of a novel which I’ve been working on for the past twelve months. This extract was chosen as I thought it worked best as a self-contained story. It depicts the novel’s protagonist, Jamie - an eighteen-year-old boy, on a late summer holiday with his girlfriend and her family on a small Greek island. I won’t say too much about the direction of the novel, only that it’s about small things that slowly turn into shockingly big things. This is a subscriber only bit of content, so if you read and enjoy, I would dearly like to know about it. If you despise it, as this is a project I’m still drafting, I think I would also like to know. My DMs are open either way.
